Introduction to sea kayaking

Our full day sea kayaking courses are ideal if you have a little kayaking experience and would really like to get out and explore the local coastline whilst learning the basic skills of sea kayaking.

We will use local venues to provide you with an introduction to the fun and adventure to be had exploring the Anglesey coast by sea. With so many isolated coves, islands and sea caves there is always plenty to see and explore. You will be supported in doing this by an experienced local coach helping you to learn the skills and acting as your guide.

Courses can be one or two days long. The course is delivered flexibly depending on the conditions and group but will focus on developing boat-handling skills whilst exploring the local coast. Each day will include journeys to explore and develop our skills.

You will meet for your session at our base in Rhoscolyn where there are changing facilities, toilets and showers. Most sessions then take place a short walk away at Rhoscolyn beach. After a short period of instruction in the bay where you will be familiarise yourself with your kayak, we will head out to explore the local coastline.

We advertise a number of course dates throughout the year, but run many more bespoke sessions in response to requests for specific dates. We can run this course for a minimum of 2 people.

“Had a great time, learnt new skills and had so much fun even though I capsized twice!!!!”

“Andy took us Sea kayaking today. It was totally brilliant! He was calm, professional, friendly and safe. He was fantastic with the kids (teen and tween) and they both had a blast. He was knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the wildlife. It was a really great afternoon, we would highly recommend and would definitely do it again when we’re in the area.”
