Aberffraw history & local interest walk
The Aberffraw history & local interest walk will take you to the historic home of the Princes of Gwynedd. We will explore a coastline steeped in local history and learn of the medieval rulers of North Wales, local saints and the earlier Celtic history of the area.
The walk follows one of Anglesey’s most scenic walks. With the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and the Llyn Peninsular as a backdrop, our walk will take us to Porth Cwyfan with its ancient 12th century church sitting on an island in the bay and past a bronze age burial site. There is also wildlife in abundance and you will frequently see Chough, Sand Martins, and Seals.
This walk is always popular.
This is a moderate walk of approx. 4-5 miles which includes uneven ground and is not suitable for pushchairs or those with limited mobility.
